Payments industry cross border venture financing deals total $2.1bn globally in September 2021

The $288.33m venture financing of Bolt Financial was the payments industry’s top cross border venture financing deal as total deals worth $2.1bn were announced globally in September 2021, according to GlobalData’s deals database.

The value marked a decrease of 37% over the previous month of $3.3bn and a rise of 56.4% when compared with the last 12-month average, which stood at $1.33bn.

Comparing cross border venture financing deals value in different regions of the globe, Asia-Pacific held the top position, with total announced deals in the period worth $826.87m. At the country level, the US topped the list in terms of deal value at $359.83m.

In terms of volumes, Asia-Pacific emerged as the top region for payments industry cross border venture financing deals globally, followed by Europe and then North America.

The top country in terms of cross border venture financing deals activity in September 2021 was the US with five deals, followed by the Singapore with four and the UK with two.

In 2021, as of September, payments cross border venture financing deals worth $16.24bn were announced globally, marking a decrease of 582.3% year on year.
