Spain’s banking and payments industry registered an 89.1% rise in IT hiring activity in August 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.
The industry’s overall hiring increased by 37.07% in August 2021 when compared with July 2021.
Out of the banking and payments industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 25.12% share in August 2021, recording an increase of 8.12% over the last three-month average share.
Top five job classifications in Spain’s banking and payments industry’s IT recruitment activity in August 2021
Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 100.67% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Spain’s banking and payments industry in August 2021.
1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 50.45% in August 2021, registering an 116.35% flat growth over the previous month.
2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 17.94% share, an increase of 185.71% over the previous month.
3) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations held a share of 16.14%, registering a 453.85% rise from July 2021.
4) Computer and Information Analysts captured a share of 12.33%, up 161.9% over the previous month.
Top five banking and payments companies in Spain’s IT recruitment activity in August 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 223.85% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Spain’s banking and payments industry during August 2021 over July 2021.
Banco Santander posted 227 IT jobs in August 2021 and registered a rise of 3142.86% over the previous month, followed by SIX Group with 108 jobs and a 68.75% growth. Zurich Insurance Group with 59 IT jobs and Euronet Worldwide with 17 jobs, recorded a 15.69% flat growth and a flat growth, respectively, while Hitachi Capital Corp recorded an increase of 25% with 10 job postings during August 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in August 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 73.99%, up by 172.73% from July 2021. Mid Level positions with a 14.8% share, registered an increase of 120% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with an 11.21% share, up 177.78% over July 2021.
