UK-based company Barclays IT hiring rose 12.5% in August 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.
The company’s overall hiring activity increased by 10.58% in August 2021 when compared with July 2021.
IT jobs claimed a 32.12% share in the company’s total hiring activity in August 2021, and recorded a 0.94% growth over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers tops Barclays IT hiring in August 2021
Out of the total IT job titles posted by Barclays, Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers emerged as the leading occupation, recording a share of 74.67% in August 2021, and a 33.83% rise over July 2021, while Miscellaneous Computer Occupations claimed a share of 14.24% in August 2021, and registered growth of 2.38%. Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 7.62% in August 2021, a 27.78% rise from July 2021.
Asia-Pacific drives IT hiring at Barclays
Asia-Pacific emerged as the leading region in the global banking and payments IT hiring activity in August 2021 with a 68.71% share, which marked a 30.09% rise over the previous month.
Europe stood next with 23.18%, registering a 29.63% month-on-month growth. North America was the third leading region with a 7.62% share and a 24.32% rise over July 2021.
In the fourth place was South & Central America with a share of 0.5% and a month-on-month decline of 57.14%.
India commanded a leading presence in the region’s banking and payments industry IT hiring activity with a 68.38% share in August 2021, a 31.11% growth over July 2021. The UK featured next with a 22.68% share, up 30.48% over the previous month. US recorded a 7.62% share, an increase of 24.32% compared with July 2021.
Junior Level jobs lead Barclays IT hiring activity in August 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 70.36%, up by 24.27% from July 2021. Mid Level positions with a 26.16% share, a growth of 58% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 2.32% share, down 6.67% over July 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 1.16%, recording a month-on-month decline of 50%.
