Ingenico teams up with SilverPay for payments solutions in cabs

Ingenico is going to extend its payment solutions distribution network to UK cab fleets through a partnership with SilverPay, a company that specialises in payment card solutions to cabs and other private transport operators. Ingenico is going to supply its EFT930G payments solution, which supports GPRS technology, and its iCT220 product, which is what Ingenico calls a new generation countertop chip and PIN device that enables transactions to be made fast.

AmEX, Morgan Stanley issue co-brand cards

American Express and Morgan Stanley are going to issue two new co-branded cards for the banks affluent customer base. The Morgan Stanley Credit Card and the Platinum Card will be issued to clients of its Smith Barney division and offer brokerage accounts and rewards. On the Morgan Stanley Credit Cards, clients can earn 10,000 membership reward points if they spend $1,000 in the first three months after opening their account

Qatar National Bank, Qtel commence NFC m-payments

Qatar National Bank (QNB) and telco Qtel are going to launch an NFC payments service in Qatar based on MasterCard’s PayPass and Oberthur Technologies’ payments application. The service will be available as either a SIM card with NFC capability, or a PayPass sticker that can be attached to the mobile phone. Users of the service will be able to spend up to QR100 ($27.50) per day and will be linked to a MasterCard credit card account.

JPMorgan partners with AirPlus Int for corporate travel expense solutions

JPMorgan has gone into a strategic partnership with AirPlus International to offer corporate travel expense management to organisations. AirPlus International specialises in corporate travel and entertainment expense solutions and its corporate travel payment solution will be integrated into JPMorgan’s corporate banking services. Andrew Pilkington, president, global commercial card at JPMorgan, said that the partnership will result ina compelling alternative to traditional corporate card programmes.

Russian credit risk at 3-yr low

Credit card risk in Russia is at its lowest point in three years, according to FICO and Russia’s National Bureau of Credit Histories (NBKI). The FICO Credit Health Index for Russia from January shows the highest mark since the index was established in October 2008, revealing a sharp and sustained decrease in credit risk since 2009, FICO said in an official announcement. FICO establishes the credit risk of a country by calculating the percentage of consumer loans and credit cards that are reported to the NBKI and have been delinquent for more than 60 days.
