The Western Union Company has launched its mobile money transfer app in Canada for domestic and cross-border money transfers.

The new app, available on the App Store for iOS and Google Play for Android, gives users instant, anytime, anywhere access to Western Union’s physical and digital money transfer infrastructure.

The platform, according to the company, will enable consumers in Canada to transfer money on-the-go, any time, to over 200 countries and territories; check current exchange rates and fees; and view past and pending transactions.

It will also give users access to round-the-clock customer service and enable them discover the locations of Western Union’s agents.

Western Union Canada director of digital business and product marketing Joycelyn David said: “We are connecting more people, across more channels, than ever before. We have been serving Canadians’ money transfer needs for more than 25 years, and now as Canadian consumers move to a more digital space in their daily lives, we are moving with them. Whether our customers prefer to deal across a counter or across a screen, we are committed to serving them across every channel.”
