Gemalto has signed a contract with ING in Belgium to extend its
suite of end-to-end strong authentication solutions.
The deal is part of ING Belgium’s target to
increase security for around 1m online banking customers.

Gemalto has provided complementary services
that include server integration, packaging and direct delivery of
the Ezio Classic card readers to ING Belgium customers.
The Ezio Classic readers use smart banking
cards to generate a one-time-password to provide secure access to
their online account as well as keeping in line with the Belgian
regulation for online security.
It also provides ING’s customers with an
easier way to start banking online and the possibility to bank from
anywhere from any device with an Internet connection.
General Manager of ING Belgium, Quinten Fraai,
said the bank selected Gemalto’s Ezio server because it can support
multiple strong authentication devices and expand into the mobile
phone and optical reader technology.”
