HSBC Merchant Services has signed a card
processing deal with the UK Post Office.
The Post Office has 11,500 branches nationwide
and HSBC Merchant Services will provide self-service kiosks, called
Post and Go, as well as 13,000 paystation bill payment terminals in
all branches.

In addition, HSBC Merchant Services will
provide virtual POS terminals for the Post Office’s website.
Sujai Jayaram, senior sourcing manager at Post
Office, said the partnership with HSBC Merchant Services was part
of the beginning of an “exciting period for Post Office”.
In October, Cards International
reported that HSBC Merchant Services had added a
new feature to its merchant billing service.
The former merchant acquiring arm of the
banking group is now proving clients with a detailed list of up to
150-odd possible charges that they incur for accepting various
cards and card schemes.

card processing services , it will work with the Post Office to
look at future opportunities and will announce any further services
in due course.
