Denizbank – the Turkish
subsidiaryof Franco-Belgian bank Dexia – is offering
its
customers an NFC payment product in collaboration with mobile
network Turkcell.

The new contactless feature is powered by Turkcell’s Cep-T
Cüzdan platform, and uses MasterCard PayPass technology.

According to mobileeurope.co.uk, the Denizbank-Turkcell
alternative payment service does not require a password and the
bank claims it to be easy, fast, and secure as customers activate
the service via SMS.

“People wishing to use Turkey’s first offline, no-name prepaid
card can simply SMS to apply with their mobile phones and
immediately start shopping with their prepaid cards,” Cenk
Bayrakdar, the bank’s Chief New Technology Business Officer, told
the website.
