Prodigy, a credit union service organization (CUSO) in the US, has teamed up CPI Card Group to enable credit unions to instantly issue EMV-enabled payment cards.

Under the terms of the agreement, the ‘Card@Once’ instant issuance solution of CPI Card Group will be integrated with Prodigy’s core system.

This integration will enable the credit unions served by Prodigy to install print and issue EMV-enabled payment cards for their onsite branch members.

The credit unions will have access to an end-to-end printing solution website to help manage member requests for new and replacement cards.

The Card@Once instant issuance solution will complement Prodigy’s cloud-based core processing platform capabilities.

CPI SVP of prepaid, personalisation solutions and instant issuance Lane Dubin said: “Through this integration, branches are able to print a card using a Card@Once printer through the Prodigy system and immediately provide a new or replacement card to customers during a brief visit.”

The Salt Lake City-based Prodigy relieves the credit unions from setting up their own IT operations by integrating its core system with CPI’s instant issuance solution.

The integration of this solution also removes the need for dual entry, thus equipping in-branch staff with a streamlined process for card issuance to members.
