Biometric fintech firm Zwipe has partnered with Watchdata Technologies, a China-based smartcard manufacturer, to develop and roll out biometric-based contactless payment cards.
In addition to the payment cards, the partners will also develop wearable products and aim to bring both these products to banks in several regions.
Headquartered in Singapore, Watchdata Technologies serves 80 million banking customers in over 70 countries.
Watchdata has extensive operations in China, France, Russia, Brazil, India, Indonesia, South Korea and Mexico.
The company is a Visa, Mastercard, and UnionPay certified manufacturer and provides a suite of payment products and services to financial institutions.

Under the partnership agreement, Zwipe will provide key components and technical guidance for developing the new products – starting with the biometric payment cards.
