
Digital challenger CARD customer numbers are on track to exceed 1.5 million by the end of the year.
Affinity branded prepaid issuer CARD says that it has now signed up over 600,000 new accounts. Moreover, customer deposits are now in excess of $3bn.
Year-over-year CARD customer acquisition is almost double the rate of last year.
Tim Coltrell, CEO, CARD says: “We’re really excited with customers’ acceptance of our brand partner images. This makes their mobile banking account unique and personal to them.
“At the same time, consumer banking has failed to keep up with the market’s changing needs. Our aim with our m-banking account is to make it easier for everyone and help customers attain their financial goals.”
Digital challenger CARD plans to introduce additional financial services later this year. It currently offers custom branded cards with a mobile app and text alerts for customers who prefer mobile banking.

In addition, CARD customers can get their paycheques fast with Early Direct Deposit. Popular personalised cards include the NFL Players Association, consumer brands, TV shows, rock bands, artists and designers.
In total, CARD offers 8,000 personalised card designs.
Visa and Mastercard branded CARD prepaid cards are issued by The Bancorp Bank and Central Bank of Kansas City.
In April, CARD formed a strategic partnership with Meta, one of the founders of the prepaid industry in the US. Meta sponsors nearly half of all retail or non-bank ATMs in the US.
