Chase Card Services signed a multi-year contract extension with Avios Group, which operates the global Avios currency for the British Airways Executive Club.

The multi-year agreement extends co-branded credit card programme for British Airways Visa Signature Card.

Chase president of co-brand credit cards Leslie Gillin said: “This extension builds on our rich history with Avios and British Airways – spanning nearly three decades – and reinforces our mutual commitment to enhancing the value and experience of our programme in the years ahead.

“As British Airways commemorates its 100th anniversary this year, we will also be celebrating with valuable product enhancements for our customers.”

The British Airways Visa Signature Card is a contactless credit card issued in US to offer customers travel perks.

The offering provides three Avios for every $1 spent on airways including Aer Lingus, British Airways, Iberia and LEVEL purchases and one Avios per $1 on other purchases.

This offering also automatically enrolls customers in the British Airways Executive Club.

The card charges no foreign transaction fees and also provides customers with additional benefits such as travel together ticket for purchases exceeding $30,000 a year.

Using Avios, customers can book flight tickets and pay for additional expenses such as tax, fees and carrier charges in cash.

Avois can also be redeemed for car hire and hotels. Also, customers can make partial payments using Avios to reduce cash amount paid for flights.

Avios Group CEO Andrew Crawley said: “We are thrilled to be extending our longstanding relationship with Chase, so that their customers can continue to benefit from a wealth of travel rewards.”
