Transdev has signed up to Corethree’s m-ticketing service to provide mobile ticketing using Barclays Pingit ‘mobile checkout’ payment service, available to the public from Tuesday 12th November.
The ‘mobile checkout’ payment feature enables travellers to make an instant payment via a ‘Pay with Barclays Pingit’ button, eradicating the need for the entry of long or large amounts of personal details, and is available to all UK bank account holders.
Passengers purchasing tickets in the Lancashire Bus region will be first Transdev passengers to access the Corethree m-ticketing service, which is set to dramatically reduce the operators ticketing overheads, speed up ticket purchases, reduce boarding times and increase passenger usage.
The m-ticketing service will be available on the Mainline, Starship, Lancashire United, the Lancashire Way and Hyndburn Connect services, as part of the Lancashire Bus region serving Manchester, Burnley, Blackburn, Preston, Bolton and the surrounding area.
The solution follows Transdev’s recent launch of its new Witch Way fleet which includes 15 state of the art vehicles with free wi-fi on-board as part of a £3m investment in the X43 route.
