Card Processing Services (CPS) will become the
first Canadian credit card processing company to use e-signatures
to process merchant contracts.

CPS will be using Silanis’ e-SignLive; a
cloud-based electronic signature service, in an attempt to improve
client service by offering a faster turnaround on contracts and
combat the problem of signing errors which can slow an application
down.

“Paper signing means possible delays because
documents have been printed on older machines and the fine print is
not legible or because signatures weren’t placed in the right
place,” said Michael Karaguezian, president of CPS. “We can
circumvent these pitfalls and help retailers transfer to a more
cost-effective payment processing system without spending a lot of
their valuable time.”

e-SignLive enables the company to convert the
contract into PDF format then email the link to the e-SignLive
enabled PDF to the client. The client can access the file securely
online and sign it. The process is recorded from start to finish
meaning subscribers benefit from a comprehensive audit trail.
