Fiserv has partnered with US-based Sunrise
Community Banks to provide general-purpose reloadable prepaid (GPR)
and gift card processing services.
Fiserv said convenient and safe alternatives
to cheques, cash and prepaid cards, especially GPR cards, are being
used more frequently by younger consumers as well as the unbanked
and under-banked.

Fisev will provide prepaid processing,
programme management, and consumer support services such payment of
bills.
Phil Valvardi, general manager of prepaid
solutions for card services, Fiserv, said:
“Sunrise GPR cardholders will be able to
choose how much value to load onto a card and use them like cash
wherever debit cards are accepted at the point of sale.
“Cardholders will also be able to use multiple
load options such as direct deposit, get cash at participating ATMs
and retail locations, and pay bills and shop online.”
