companies will be designing customer-led revenue models for mobile
banking and payment services. These models will be based around the
theme of ‘Fair Value Exchange’ – aligning the services that
customers seek alongside responsible, yet profit-oriented
pricing.
Value-based pricing will become common
practice for banks as they design mobile propositions to meet
different customer segments’ needs and align pricing models and
price levels to tap into these segments’ willingness-to-pay. These
revenue models will not reach the mass market until 2013 or beyond;
trials with specific segments could however appear in 2012 for
certain markets/services.”
