Sweden-based gift purchase app company Wrapp
has confirmed that the next country where it will set up store will
be Brazil.
Wrapp already has offices in the US and will
soon also expand into Germany, France, the Netherlands, Taiwan,
Japan, Australia and Turkey. It calls its service a “social gifting
app for celebrating, thanking, surprising and delighting friends
and family with free gift cards from top retailers”.,
Wrapp was created for Facebook and targets
smartphone users who can buy, receive and redeem electronic gift
cards on their mobile phones or in-store from participating
merchants.
“Wrapp is the only social gifting service
whose interests are 100% aligned with the retailers’,” said Carl
Fritjofsson, Wrapp co-founder and chief operating officer.
“We do not own, nor will we ever start, an
ecommerce business that competes with our merchant partners. That’s
our promise. Because we know that partnership in this business
requires constant innovation and the sharing of confidential
data.”
Hermano Cintra, Wrapp’s country manager for
Brazil, said:

US Tariffs are shifting - will you react or anticipate?
Don’t let policy changes catch you off guard. Stay proactive with real-time data and expert analysis.
By GlobalData“Brazilian merchants appreciate the difference
and benefits of working with the company that invented
next-generation social gifting and friend-to-friend marketing
rather than a copycat, which is more likely to be a competitor than
trusted long-term partner.”
The company launched Wrapp in the US in
November last year and has since acquired 200,000 active users, who
have generated 1.5m gift cards.
The Wrapp app is available for Andoird and
Apple smartphones.
