Google has rolled out an NFC-enabled card called the Beba Card
for public transport in Kenya’s capital Nairobi.
The card will be used on the Citi Hoppa
buses.

Dorothy Ooko, Google-Kenya’s communication
manager told local media:
“The project is on a pilot basis. We
have many partners and that is all we can say for now.”
The Beba Card is a prepaid product that can be
loaded with up to KSH10,000 (USD115) and will be marketed to
commuters.
Users can check the balance and trace back
transactions on the Beba website.
