Ghana-based Zenith Bank has unveiled a new pre-paid card, dubbed as Global Travel Wallet (GTW), for travellers in a bid to promote cashless commerce in the country.

The GTW, which is approved by Bank of Ghana, will enable travellers to deposit a maximum of $10,000 in it for their business transactions and is designed to serve as a more convenient and secured means to carry foreign exchange, according to Vibe Ghana.

The GTW also provides users with an alternative payment method for online transactions through internet channels worldwide.

Zenith Bank managing director, Daniel Asiedu, was quoted by Vibe Ghana as saying that the card could be used to make purchases at more than 30 million locations around the world.

"It could also be used to withdraw funds from over two million ATMs around the world and also can be used to enjoy discount deals around the world."
