Nigeria-based Enterprise Bank has launched a new dual purpose MasterCard prepaid card that can be used locally and internationally.

Called Enterprise Bank MasterCard Prepaid Card, the new multi-purpose chip and pin debit card can be pre-funded with cash.

Available to both customers and non-customers, the new card can be used to effect cashless payments (like a bank debit card) on the internet, Point of Sale (POS) terminals and cash from Automated Teller Machines (ATMs).

According to the bank, the card can be pre-funded in Naira or USD currency denominations and is suitable for students, corporate accounts and travel cards among others.

The bank in a statement said the unique benefit of the card is that cardholders would have no need to open or have a bank account in order to have the prepaid card.

"With this development, Enterprise Bank continues to play a key role in advancing the implementation of the cashless policy of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) as part of the effort to be the bank of choice to all Nigerians," the statement added.
