Maybank Philippines is planning to expand its credit card business in 2014 by launching marketing plans and new products.
Maybank cards business head, Eden Leah Estrella, was quoted by GMA News Online as saying that the bank is working to have a 130,000 consumer base by the end of 2014.
Estrella said they have plans for acquisition to grow their card base.
"We also have plans for increasing usage through marketing offers and product development will introduce new card variants and co-branding to increase base and usage," Estrella added.
The bank, which started issuing credit cards from 11 October 2012, had a consumer base of around 50,000 by the end of 2013.
According to the data from Credit Cards Association of the Philippines, the credit card circulation is approximately seven million as of 2013, which is around 7% of the total population.
