Delhi Government has approved a proposal for the use Metro train smart cards in Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) buses and cluster buses run by DIMTS.
In order to enable passengers to use their Metro train smart cards, Delhi transport department official software used in the ticketing process will be replaced or modified, as reported by PTI.
The transport department has started working on the process as a part of which a system will be put in place to enable people to recharge the cards in other utility stores based on their bar codes.
In December 2011, the Ministry of Urban Development launched a nationwide inter-operable transport card after which the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation ( DMRC) rolled out the ‘More Delhi’ card in 2012, with provisions for use in Metro trains and DMRC-run feeder buses.
An unnamed Metro Rail official said, "We are having meetings on this issue with Tranport department to sort out the modalities. On our end whatever backened activities have to be done we will arrange for that."
