Moneris, a Canada-based credit and debit card processor, has started offering UnionPay card acceptance services for merchants across Canada in collaboration with UnionPay International.

UnionPay’s full integration with Moneris payment applications will enable seamless processing and quick transaction settlement with integrated reporting for reconciliation of all card brand transactions allowing merchants to accept UnionPay cards like any other credit or debit card.
The new card processing service will be available with immediate effect on select Moneris point-of-sale (POS) terminals and for integration with custom POS solutions.
Jeff Guthrie, chief sales and relationship officer of Moneris, said: "We have seen tremendous growth in the number of Chinese visitors coming to Canada for work, travel and study.
"UnionPay card acceptance helps merchants meet the growing demand for Chinese visitors’ payment method of choice and provides them with a greater business opportunity."
