State Department Federal Credit Union (SDFCU) has partnered with Clements Worldwide, an international insurance solutions provider, to launch a credit card-based term life insurance program to meet the needs of state employees in the US and those serving abroad.

The program will be available through SDFCU’s debit and credit cards and will enable its members to obtain guaranteed life insurance coverage valid throughout the globe including high-risk locations.
The initiative will offer protection during the instance of war, terrorism and political violence in addition to presenting provisions for a stopgap to supplement other plans.
Clements Worldwide with its extensive global underwriter network will custom-design the life insurance product simplifying the application process for SDFCU clients.
SDFCU president and CEO Jan Roche said: "The men and women who serve in our country’s diplomatic corps are often excluded from participation in life insurance plans because they frequently travel to or reside in areas impacted by conflict, disaster or disease."
