UnionPay International, the international business unit of UnionPay, and Russia’s Orient Express Bank have teamed up to jointly issue the UnionPay credit card in Russia.

The UnionPay credit card issued in cooperation with the Russian bank will permit usage on the global UnionPay card acceptance network encompassing 140 countries across the world.
UnionPay International will facilitate partner institutions to issue multiple types of UnionPay cards including UnionPay platinum cards and golden cards to cater to the local cardholders besides improving the card acceptance environment in Russia.
The card aimed to meet the demands of cross-border trades in Far East region will offer a maximum credit line capped at RUB300,000 (about $4600).
Orient Express Bank will launch a UnionPay card mass issuance plan in the offing with UnionPay International proactively engaging to expand cooperation with local banks.
