WEX, a US-based provider of corporate payment solutions, has teamed up with GE Capital Transportation Finance to launch a new fuel card services program for over-the-road trucking (OTR) companies.

Under the partnership, WEX Bank aim sto provide qualified customers of GE Capital, Transportation Finance co-branded over-the-road fuel card services.

The newly co-branded Fleet One OTR fuel card has been designed to provide cardholders with benefits such as industry-leading controls, fraud reduction, level III reporting and fuel savings throughout the Fleet One network.

Offered by WEX, the card will be accepted at most of the truck stops across the US. The issuance of the card is subject to underwriting and approval of WEX Bank.

In addition, the card will also allow GE Capital customers to easily manage difficult data reporting and point-of-sale information tasks, providing both companies and drivers the data needed to make smarter routing and fuel purchase decisions.

Using the card, GE Capital, Transportation Finance has negotiated point-of-sale discounts on diesel purchases at participating Pilot Flying J, Speedway, WilcoHess, and AMBEST locations.

GE Capital, Transportation Finance senior vice president of sales John Conkin said: "Operators can use the Fleet One OTR Fuel Card as an alternative to standard debit or credit cards, which will allow them to manage driver spending and simplify line-item reporting.

"They’ll also benefit from WEX Fleet One’s robust reporting capabilities, which provide increased security and control, allowing customers better management of their fleet expenses."
