Oberthur Technologies (OT) has joined forces with Crédit Agricole Consumer Finance to roll out a new service which will allow PIN codes to be securely delivered through SMS.

OT’s SMART PIN solution secures code sending through SMS, enabling cardholders to receive their code almost instantly and use their card as soon as they get it.
The solution to activate cards reduces fraud by eliminating correspondence by post. It also features double encryption of the PIN, which is stored and delivered securely to enable better traceability of the code’s transmission and faster access to credit.
Crédit Agricole Consumer Finance France director of operations Florence Burdin said: “Responding to our partners’ challenges means paying special attention to their customers’ expectations and needs.
“The solution developed with OT responds to three of our key objectives: innovation, simplification of the customer experience and their satisfaction.”
