UK-based fuel card provider Allstar has selected Oberthur Technologies (OT), a provider of digital security solutions for the mobility space, to support the migration of its fuel cards from magnetic stripe to EMV chip cards.

Under the deal, OT will support EMV setup and artwork design, while providing the cards and personalisation from its WISE (White label, Independent, Secure, EMV) offering.

This range of services from OT has been designed to help Allstar improve the security of its cards against fraud and simplify the deployment and the shopping experience throughout the network.

Through the WISE offering, OT will deliver products and solutions dedicated to domestic payment or ATM schemes, retailers, fuel retailers, among others, who intend to migrate from magnetic stripe to chip cards.

The migration process is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2015.
