ID TECH, a manufacturer of secure payment solutions, mobile payment, point of sale peripherals, has unveiled a new contactless card reader UniPay III.

Featuring triple-track MagStripe, smart card and contactless technologies, the UniPay III represents the latest innovation in secure mobile payment acceptance, the company claims.

Using the all-in-one mobile reader, merchants can accept MagStripe, EMV smart card and NFC/contactless payments including Android Pay, Apple Pay, Samsung Pay, MasterCard PayPass, Visa VCPS, American Express ExpressPay, Discover DPAS, among others.

Supported on Apple, Windows and Android platforms with a SDK, the ID TECH’s UniPay III communicates to the host through the audio jack port and allows simple and easy integration into mobile payment applications. It also features a USB port which can be used for charging or communication with a PC or Android USB.

In order to ensure secure encryption and transmission of magnetic stripe, smart card and contactless transactions, UniPay III leverages DUKPT key management and TDES/AES encryption. Further it is contact and contactless EMV Level 1 and Level 2 approved.

The company said that UniPay III is compatible with various types of phones and tablets, and provides merchants with a cross platform and cross technology solution.

Together with the ID TECH Universal SDK and common EMV L2 kernel implementation, the UniPay III simplifies integration and certification for partners looking to migrate to EMV in a mobile environment.
