Wirecard, a German financial services and technology company, has reached an agreement with US-based travel technology company Sabre to cooperate in the field of payment processing and joint payment innovations.

As per terms of the agreement, Sabre will integrate Wirecard’s payment services in its own payment platform.

The integration will enable Sabre to process all types of payment transactions originating from all sectors within the travel industry, including airlines, hotels and rental cars, among others.

Additionally, both firms have agreed to collaborate together to develop payment innovations for the tourism industry.

Both partners are currently piloting a scheme dubbed ‘Sabre Mobile Concierge’, which will allow Sabre to provide a whole host of services such as check-in, excess baggage, on-board sales, upgrades and much more through a mobile device.

The service will avoid long queues at the check-in counter and while waiting to board.
