Finland-based telecommunications firm Elisa has partnered with convenience store chain R-kioski to sell pre-loaded contactless payment stickers in the country.

Elisa Lompakko (Elisa Wallet) is an independent mobile payments service operator and a bank independent service, and the stickers have been designed to work with any Finnish operator.

Elisa Consumer Subscription Business vice president, Henri Korpi, said that the completely mobile pre-loaded sticker service can be activated through a SMS for instant use. The payment stickers carry a pre-loaded value of €20.

The store has already begun accepting contactless payments in Finland for small purchases up to €25 without requiring the customer to enter a PIN code or sign for purchases.

The stickers are available for customers who have a Finnish social security number, a Finnish mobile phone number and are at least 15 years of age, according to Henri Korpi.

A part of Reitan Convenience and Reitan Group, R-kioski has a nationwide coverage with nearly 640 stores and a brand recognition of 98%.
