Mobile payments company Mobile Embrace is expanding its m-payments business Convey in Russia through the launch of its product on three major Russian telecommunications carriers.

Post approval, the company will offer Russian telecom customers, mobile products and services to make payments with direct carrier billing channel.

Mobile Embrace managing director Neil Wiles, "This is a significant increase to Mobile Embrace’s m-payments business global market place and gives us outstanding reach and access to the Russian market where mobile is growing as the preferred internet access platform."

The company stated that the collaboration with the three Russian telecom operators would increase the presence of the m-payments business from nearly 28 million to 200 million across the globe.

In a research by Juniper Research, it was revealed that mobile content, monetised through direct carrier billing, would drive growth in global revenues to over $13bn by 2017 from $2bn reported in 2012.
