FIME, a payment testing company, has acquired CETECOM payment activities in the US for an undisclosed sum.
The acquisition will bolster FIME’s existing San Jose testing and consultancy offerings with the addition of testing equipment.
As agreed, CETECOM’s payment experts will also join FIME.
The combined team will work to support the development of digital payment technologies in the US.
The scope of work will include designing biometric authentication solutions as well as card, mobile and softPOS contactless payments.
FIME CEO Lionel Grosclaude said: “Digital and contactless payments were already gathering momentum in North America and the current crisis has seen projects step up.

CETECOM CEO Wilfried Klassmann said: “While we are strategically focusing on providing fast and secure market access for devices with radio technologies, it was important to us that our US payment customers continue to receive the same level of quality of services.”
According to the website, FIME has nine test laboratories and three development centres around the world. With a workforce of 450 employees, it serves around 3000 clients in 180 countries.
