TelUPay, a US-based provider of mobile banking and payment processing services, has signed an agreement with Xytrix Systems to manufacture its ‘Tap-Tap’ branded self-service payment kiosks.
Under the deal, Xytrix will provide the hardware and TelUPay will provide its payment technologies and its aggregator services.
TelUPay said that it plans to manufacture 1,000 kiosks by the second quarter of 2016 in strategic locations such as convenience stores, call centers, BPO’s and the Philippines EPZAs factories.
These kiosks will enable Filipino consumers to purchase mobile airtime, pay bills, top-up stored value cards for transit systems, convenience stores and restaurants, purchase prepaid electricity and conduct remittances through national remittance operators.
TelUPay CEO Adrian Ansell said: "The deployment of self-service payment kiosks is a critical part of our strategy in building out TelUPay’s branded ‘Tap-Tap’ service in the Philippines.
"Each unit installed will be initially accompanied by a TelUPay representative to introduce the service to the Filipino community. Upon maturity, we expect each kiosk to generate between 120 to 150 transactions a day."
