Elavon, a payments provider owned by US Bancorp, has launched a new software development kit that allows businesses to begin accepting ApplePay and streamline a path to EMV.

Dubbed as Commerce SDK, the new kit aims to accelerate a business ability to implement a secure, EMV-compliant payment solution.

The solution will be deployed by integrating Elavon’s global payment processing, EMV certification coding, encryption and tokenization implementation and hardware support for printers, terminals and mobile devices into one package.

Also, Talech, a tablet-based point-of-sale provider, has integrated into Elavon’s Commerce SDK to enable businesses accept EMV payments and ApplePay.

The kit will be available to developers at businesses, value added resellers, agents and solutions providers and supported by Elavon’s customer service.

Additionally, Elavon’s mPOS solution has started accepting payments using NFC technology from consumers via Apple Pay.

The solution will combine Elavon’s payment processing strength with talech’s tablet platform to allow small and medium size business (SMB) customers accept Apple Pay.

Moreover, businesses can also accept Apple Pay using a new reader powered by Ingenico Mobile Solutions that connects to the mPOS via Bluetooth technology.

Elavon said that the mPOS solution will provide EMV capabilities for customers in third quarter of 2015.

Elavon vice president of Omni Commerce Solutions and The Grove Wally Mlynarski said: "The greatest value Commerce SDK provides to our customers and partners is its scalability; it’s designed for businesses across the spectrum. From the large hotel chain with locations across the country, to the local sandwich shop down the street, Commerce SDK significantly reduces the time it takes businesses to complete their EMV roll-out.

"It allows the Point-of-Sale (POS) to communicate with printers and terminals, as well as process payments via our Converge Omni-Commerce gateway."

talech CEO Irv Henderson said: "By partnering with Elavon, we continue to enable businesses with the latest technologies like Apple Pay and EMV that enhance the consumer experience."
