Earthport, a UK-based global payments network for businesses, has opened a new office in Singapore to expand its presence in Asia.

The office will act as a FinTech hub for the region, supporting the company’s expansion in emerging trading nations across southeast Asia.

The Singapore office will be headed by Sajeev Viswanathan, who has worked for 19 years at Citigroup in the UK, India and Moscow alongside Rohit Bammi, who has also previously held executive roles at Deutsche Bank and Citibank

Bammi has also worked as partner and head of financial risk management at KPMG in Singapore and India.

Earthport CEO Hank Uberoi said: "The opening of our Singapore office is an important milestone in the continuing expansion of Earthport’s global footprint and underlines our commitment to the Asia-Pacific market."
