Optimal Payments has received approval from the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) for the acquisition of Skrill Group.

The acquisition is expected to close on 10 August 2015.

In March 2015, Optimal Payments signed an agreement to buy Sentinel Topco and its subsidiaries (Skrill Group) from Sentinel Group Holdings for an enterprise value of nearly EUR1.1bn ($1.2bn).

The directors of Optimal Payments said that the deal will be transformational and value enhancing for Optimal Payments and its shareholders.

Optimal Payments offers online and mobile payment processing services and operates online payment service NETELLER.
