Zwipe and Silone CardTech have joined forces for a biometric card partnership.
Biometric technology is on the rise and passwords are becoming outdated. Moreover, many institutions want to drive forward the push to recognise a person through their fingerprints or iris scans.
The two companies are working together on this biometric card partnership to eventually launch battery-less dual-interface biometric payment cards. The cards will be available through banks and with loyalty programmes in China.
Commenting on the partnership, CEO of Silone CardTech, William Ju said: “We thoroughly evaluated the various offerings in the market and Zwipes’ technology platform was the only offering genuinely capable of performing battery-less dual-interface biometric authentication within the rigours of the existing payment card ecosystem.
“This enables us to offer our customers, some of the largest banks and loyalty programmes in China, a cutting-edge solution that we are confident will be well received in the marketplace.”
