Zomato, in an exclusive partnership with Emirates NBD, a retail banking franchise in UAE, has launched the Cashless feature on its mobile app.

The feature will send the final bill amount to the app enabling diners to settle their bill at participating restaurants using the Zomato app on their smartphone instead of paying with cash or physically swiping their cards at the restaurants.

Zomato will offer a 10% discount to diners paying with Cashless on their first transaction while the first 500 Emirates NBD Credit Cardholders who pay using Cashless at participating restaurants will get up to AED 100 in cash-back.

The partnership will offer a 10% cash-back to all Emirates NBD Credit Cardholders until the end of February 2015 on each Zomato Cashless transaction.

Zomato UAE CEO Rohin Thampi said: "Our cashless payments system will store users’ credit card in a legally authorized secure vault, allowing them to pay at restaurants using the Zomato app. The app will provide the restaurant with access to this payment facility without the restaurant needing to use a card-reader machine."
