YellowPepper, a mobile banking and payments solutions provider, has partnered with Carta Worldwide, a Canada-based digital transaction processing services provider, to introduce host card emulation (HCE) NFC mobile payments technology to Latin America.
Under the partnership, Carta Worldwide will offer its HCE technology to YellowPepper that will leverage its regional footprint with over 50 financial institutions and retailers to launch the new technology to clients.
HCE technology enables an NFC enabled device to simply provision a card and make secure, contactless transactions without the need to access a hardware Secure Element (SE).
The partnership will aid YellowPepper in their continued expansion across Latin America by offering a variety of solutions for clients.
YellowPepper co-founder and CEO Serge Elkiner said: "Our mission is to revolutionize the payment experience for consumers in Latin America, and we’re thrilled to be working alongside a global and proven industry leader like Carta to bring mobile payments to the masses."
