Chinese e-commerce platform XBN has collaborated with German digital payments firm Wirecard to support digital payments outside of China.
Under the partnership, XBN will gain access to global digital payment acceptance services.
Besides, Wirecard will utilise its SmartShop agent retail network in India to facilitate the expansion of XBN in the country.
Wirecard EVP group business development Georg von Waldenfels said: “There is tremendous potential in partnering with XBN and bringing our global digital payment acceptance solutions to a leading global, rapidly growing e-commerce platform.
“The opportunity, besides leveraging all of our traditional global payment products, is also to expand throughout India and leverage our SmartShop agent network for XBN by bringing digital e-commerce services to consumers in the rural parts of the Indian subcontinent.”
Wirecard’s global approach will enable the e-commerce platform to provide a broader suite of financial services to its suppliers.
