Worldpay has rolled out domestic acquiring capabilities in Colombia, continuing its expansion within Latin America.
The company is offering a range of solutions for the market, such as e-commerce payment technologies, fraud protection measures, 3D secure protocols, and secure customer authentication.
These services are integral for the processing of transactions, including authorisation, clearing, settlement, and dispute management, along with providing merchants with data-driven insights.
This development adds to the company’s existing operations in regional markets such as Argentina, Brazil, and Mexico.
Worldpay said that Colombian merchants seeking to operate on an international scale will gain access to the company’s global payment network.
To support both local and international clients in the region, the company has established a team in Colombia.

Worldpay global enterprise president Gabriel de Montessus said:
“Our vision to unleash the potential of every business means breaking down barriers for global merchants while enabling access to the rest of the world for local players, which is why extending our presence in countries like Colombia is a key focus for us.”
“Our ambition is to be the payments partner these businesses need in order to power their growth, supporting them by coupling our global reach and revenue-enhancing solutions with the industry leading global and local expertise, tailored to our merchants’ needs.”
This follows the company’s Mexico expansion and it now offers local processing and payment services in 69 markets worldwide, aiming to meet the needs of businesses operating both within and outside these regions.
Recently, Worldpay partnered with Yabie, a point of sale (POS) company, to integrate merchant business tools into Worldpay 360, a comprehensive payment solution designed for small and medium-sized businesses in the UK.
