Financial services and technology firm Wirecard has introduced a payment wearable solution based on host card emulation (HCE) technology named the Wirecard Smart Band to be showcased in DLD15.
The technology being connected to an app on a smart phone via Bluetooth 4.0 or WiFi will speed up the contactless payment process enabling users to pay by holding the intelligent armband against the NFC payment terminal.

The band will require customers to preload a one-off token to it via smart phone and the tokens will replace card data, which will be stored in a secure server.
Wirecard CEO Markus Braun said: "Modern payment wearables such as our Wirecard Smart Band are a further enhancement and expression of the mobile lifestyle. As a pacemaker for internet-based payments, we are setting standards for a mobile, cashless future, regardless of the device being used."
