Wirecard has entered into a partnership with CIMB Bank Singapore to provide mobile point-of-sale (mPOS) card acceptance and banking solution for the clients of POS solution provider Eleos Web.

The partnership will expand Eleos’ till functionality to incorporate mobile card acceptance. It will also see Eleos introducing the solution in Singapore before extending it to Southeast Asia in association with Wirecard.

As part of the move, Wirecard will offer the mPOS technology that will include technical integration. CIMB Bank will provide various services and solutions including credit facility and online banking as the acquiring bank.

Eleos develops and operates automated till systems under the name Octopus. The systems are used in the retail and dining sectors, and operated via tablet or smartphone apps.

Wirecard Singapore managing director Jeffry Ho said: "Card payments are exceptionally popular in the Asian market and mPOS solutions are drivers of card transactions in the region.
