German ATM maker Wincor Nixdorf and Nokas, a Scandinavian provider of cash-handling services, have formed an equally owned joint venture called CROWN in Benelux.

The new entity, which is headquartered in Delft, Netherlands, will offer a range of retail cash management services, recycling and deposit solutions.

Wincor Nixdorf said that that the new venture’s portfolio will not be limited to front office – or back office activities. It will also offer end-to-end cash-handling services for retail companies, by taking over and managing all their cash logistics with a significantly lower TCO.

Under the partnership, Wincor Nixdorf will provide IT solutions and services for the retail industry, while Nokas will supply cash- management solutions, including early credit facilities.

CROWN executive director Pieter van den Burg said: "Our objective is to become a trusted managed services partner in the retail segment with a significant market share in the Benelux countries within the next three to five years.

"Our goal with the new company, which unites the experience of Wincor Nixdorf and Nokas, is to leverage synergy effects, boost our competitiveness and deliver services in order to cut the costs of the cash process for our customers."
