WEX, a provider of corporate payment solutions, has partnered with aviation software management firm MyFlightSolutions to launch first-of-its-kind virtual payments application tailored to pilots.
Dubbed My Copilot, the new platform will offer services to aviation industry professionals, including international trip planning firms, fuel distributors and related businesses to streamline aviation-related purchases.
My Copilot generates a single-use MasterCard payment solution for all purchases of fuel and fixed-base operators (FBOs) services, and transportation, commercial airfare and hotel expenses anywhere MasterCard is accepted worldwide.
The app, which is designed for merchants, does not require new processes because transactions are processed as traditional MasterCard credit cards at the point-of-sale terminals.
WEX Virtual Payments SVP and general manager Jim Pratt said: “Enabling operators to quickly and automatically reconcile a pilot’s trip expenses is groundbreaking for aviation businesses.
“Simply put, this app means that pilots will ‘free up’ their wallets, which are usually chock-full of fuel credit cards. Plus, aircraft operators no longer need to worry about losing track of cumbersome paper releases in order to buy fuel.”

“We’re extremely proud to be part of My Copilot’s innovative technology, which is unavailable elsewhere in the market today.”
