Weve, a joint venture between the UK’s three major mobile network operators, has selected Proxama as partner for developing its mobile loyalty service.

Under the deal, Proxama’s TapPoint platform will serve as the technology base for Weve’s Alpha loyalty service Pouch, to allow in-app engagement and loyalty on smartphones at POS in retail stores.

Available across Android and iOS platforms, Weve’s Pouch will be launched on a phased approach bringing additional functionality and an increased number of participating merchants.

Using Proxama’s platform, Weve will be able to implement a contextual loyalty application which means content displayed in Pouch will be relevant to the consumer.

Weve director of product, Sean O’Connell, said: "Our initial trial with EAT and our forthcoming work with Proxama® has the potential to bring mobile loyalty at scale to consumers and retailers."

Proxama CEO and founder, Neil Garner, added: "We’re proud of our partnership with Weve and our role in helping to develop Pouch. It’s a testament to our ability to deliver seamless commerce experiences that are transforming how consumers and brands engage through smartphones."
