Media company Telemundo has teamed up with
Western Union to offer Hispanic consumers in the US two co-branded
general purpose reloadable MasterCard prepaid cards.

Consumers will be able to reload money onto
their Western Union Telemundo and Western Union mun2 co-branded
MasterCard prepaid cards in-person at more than 46,000
participating Western Union agent locations in the US. They can do
so through direct deposit of employer or government benefits, or
through their bank account online.

Telemundo is owned by entertainment
programming giant NBC Universal and is the first television channel
created for young bicultural Hispanics in the US.

“We are very please to add Western Union to
the growing list of partners in Telemundo’s consumer products
programme and also serve the Hispanic community with this key
financial service,” said Kim Niemi, SVP for NBC Universal
Television Consumer Products Group.

“We look forward to working with Western Union
to offer financial literacy and services to our viewers.”

Cardholders will have the ability to use the
cards anywhere MasterCard debit is accepted and at ATMs across the
US.

There will be no credit check for consumers
nor will they be required to hold a bank account in order to be
eligible for the card.

The two reloadable prepaid cards will be made
available at selected retailers in the US as well as online.
