Payment giant Visa has joined forces with Allpoint Network to offer convenient cash access for Southeast Asian cardholders traveling to the US.
Allpoint, which owned by Cardtronics, is an interbank network connecting ATMs. It offers surcharge-free transactions at ATMs in its network.
The partnership will enable users of Visa travel prepaid cards and debit cards from select financial firms to conduct surcharge-free transactions at more than 40,000 Allpoint ATMs across the US.
The agreement, according to Cardtronics, includes Visa travel prepaid cards and debit cards issued by 76 financial institutions in India, Bangladesh and Singapore.

Visa head of consumer products and digital solutions in Asia Pacific Rob Walls said: “When people travel overseas, they want to be able to access their money securely, conveniently and without paying a lot of fees.”
In addition to ATMs, Allpoint also offers a wide array of cash access points in premium retail locations.
Cardtronics EVP and managing director for North America Brian Bailey said: “By partnering with Cardtronics, Visa and its issuers are improving peace of mind and convenience for their traveling cardholders with surcharge-free cash available virtually anywhere they may travel across the United States.

The companies urged individuals holding Visa prepaid or debit cards to check with their card issuer to make sure they have access to Allpoint Network before traveling to the US.
