VITA Products has collaborated with Visa to
create the VITAband, a multi-purpose bracelet that stores emergency
contact and medical information while offering contactless payment
functionality.
The VITAband uses Visa’s payWave technology
allowing consumers to pay for goods using a prepaid card
account by waving their wrist at the point-of-sale terminal at
participating merchants.
“VITAband has broken new ground in the
consumer electronic category by combining both access to digital
health records as well as a payment capability in one, streamlined
device,” said Jason Brown, president and co-founder of VITA
Products.
VITA products provide access to information in
case of an emergency through an emergency response profile. The
VITAband will initially be available online through the product’s
website.
